Low Carbon Rwanda National Police

PROJECT SUMMARY:
The Rwanda National Police (RNP) intends to transform into an efficient and low-carbon energy consumption institution aligned to national green growth priorities. Low reforestation in Rwanda leads to high CO2 emissions. The force will transform its catering facilities for emission avoidance and to reduce respiratory diseases caused by wood fuel smoke. A 96% CO2 emissions avoidance is expected from the transformation to LPG cooking and to remove more than 1660 kitchen personnel from indoor wood smoke associated with respiratory diseases.

PARTNER INSTITUTION/S:
Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA), Ministry of Infrastructure (MININFRA), Workforce Development Authority (WDA), National Industrial Research and Development Agency (NIRDA) and Gishari Integrated Polytechnic (GIP)
